Holidays
The school observes the same holidays off as the Shawnee Public Schools
Snow Days
Call the studio prior to class time to see if classes are in session

Class Regulations
Practice attire - leotards, tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes with elastic to replace ties.  Hair must be pulled back if long enough.  Long t-shirts or boxer shorts over leotards are not acceptable.  It is essential that correct dance clothes be worn in order for teachers to observe proper body movement.  If improperly dressed, students may be asked to observe the class.  Street shoes are to be worn to and from the studio.  Dance shoes are not to be worn outside.  WRITE NAME ON ALL DANCE SHOES!
Attendance
There is no substitute for regular attendance to ensure steady progress.  We strive to be prompt in our class periods and ask that students be ready to dance at their appointed time.  Classes missed due to illness may be made up in duplicate classes designated by the teacher.

Recital
Each student is permitted to perform in the class in which he or she has been attending for the year.  The recital is held at the Rose State Performing Arts Center.  We feel this is a valuable learning experience to perform before an audience, one that promotes confidence as well as higher self-esteem; however, the student is not required to participate.  Teachers should be notified by December 1st if student does not plan to be n the recital.

Class Ettiquette
No gum chewing in class.  Polite and well-mannered behavior is expected at all times.

Delivering and Parking
Please be courteous and show caution when delivering and picking up children.  The North lane is for parking, while the South lane is for standing only.  Please pull up in driveway as far as possible.  Do not deliver children more than 15 minutes before class unless you intend to supervise them.  A teacher's free time is precious and we often do class preparation, office work, etc., before class and cannot baby-sit.  Please pick your children up promptly after class as well.

Solos, Duos, and Trios
Solos, duos, and trios must audition in August.  Check website after August 17th for days and times.

Taping Music
If students need a tape or CD made of a song, please follow these guidelines: A. Bring a tape or CD with dancer's name on it, B. CD must be a "music" or "audio" CD, C. Give us at least a day or two to make the desired copy.

Personal Note:
To the PARENTS - Your child is important to us, not just the dance progress, but the whole development.  If you have a problem, or if you feel your child is losing interest, please call for a consultation.  We are never too busy to discuss your child: however, since teacher's schedules often require consecutive classes, it would be more satisfactory to have a special appointment.
